Rie Creations Studios - Art with a Heart

she was made for the "Pump in up" show. I couldn't connect to the title of the show but I could connect to the fact the show was in honor of National Poetry Month. I just kept play around with different ideas in my head. I love chickens and we even had a wild chicken come to stay with us for awhile. We named her Camillia, after Gonzo the Great muppet girlfriend.

The feelings that came from this drawing was a sense of going into oneself to see what lies inside. A charcoal stick was used to create this abstract drawing. It was created in 1990 Measurements: 18 x 22 , w/ Frame 22 1/2 x 28 1/2

MY WORK

This sculpture was made in honor of poetry . There were many recycled materials used to make this sculpture. Her feathers were made from a old college poetry book. There are many well known poets represented on her feathers such Emerson, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickensen and many more. I placed a blank page near her heart for all the current poets who are writing now and those whom have yet to be.

The idea for the pictures' subject came from my own family. I have three sisters and yet some how I see myself with in the painting. There is a combination of acrylic paints and oil pastels used in this painting. The frame is made of rough wood and painted to complete the subject. This painting was made in 2002. Measurements: 10 1/2 x 14 , w/ Frame 15 1/2 x 18 1/2
